Having joined the Blancpain GT Series Asia for the second round of the championship, Devon Modell has quickly adapted to the series and heading to Shanghai International Circuit this weekend, (23-24 September) the British racer is looking to build on the runner-up positions secured in the last two rounds.
Once again Modell will line up alongside Craft-Bamboo Racing teammate Nick Foster in the #88 Porsche 991 GT3R and with 84 points on the board in the Silver-Silver class is just one-point shy of fourth position in the standings. This is particularly impressive given that Modell missed round one of the championship.
“I always approach the race weekend with a view of winning, and nothing changes on that front for this weekend in China,” said Modell. “We do however face stiff competition but with just four races left now, we have momentum on our side.
“It’s my first time competing in Shanghai, but it was the same case at both Suzuka and Fuji and it didn’t prove to be an issue! I just need to get a bit more out of the car in qualifying but otherwise, I think we should be set for another strong weekend.”
