Devon Modell is seeking a solid points haul to round off his successful season with Craft-Bamboo Racing this weekend (October 14-15) as the Blancpain GT Series Asia travels to Zhejiang for the final race of the season.

The British racer, supported by Gallery Nightclub in Maidstone, has enjoyed a strong campaign since joining the Hong Kong-based team for the third race of the year at Chang International Circuit, Thailand. Since then Devon and teammate Nick Foster have secured two fine podium positions in the #88 Porsche 991 GT3R, something Devon is hoping to replicate this weekend.

For the final race of the year, Devon has a new teammate in Andre Heimgartner who will be making his debut in the series. The New Zealander comes from a solid background of Porsche Carrera Cup racing and is currently second in the Australian championship.

For Devon, sixth in the Silver class driver standings with 90 points, a strong end to the season will compensate for a difficult penultimate round which saw teammate Foster eliminated at the first turn.

“I’m looking forward to the season finale in Zhejiang where hopefully we can put the bad luck from Shanghai behind us and finish the year with a high,” Devon said. “I have a new co-driver in Andre this weekend and we should work well together.”

Located at Shaoxing, Zhejiang Circuit is a new addition to the calendar this year and at 3.2km long, consists of a tight and twisty section followed by two long straights.

“The track is new for most of the grid and that should play to our strengths again and we’re confident that we’ll be up at the sharp end,” Devon concluded.
