Australia’s Aidan Read and British racer Devon Modell are the latest names to be added to BAM Motorsports’ management stable and these expanded relationships have already served to advance the drivers’ respective careers.
They join a growing number of drivers, from professionals competing at the highest levels to aspirants taking their first steps in motor racing, who are under BAM management and benefiting from opportunities to ascend the ladder.
Read’s career has real momentum, as victory-rich single-seater campaigns in the Formula Masters Series and a stellar Asian Le Mans debut in LMP3 machinery assisted BAM Motorsports in its endeavours to secure an LMP2 test for the teenager.
The 17-year old from Perth, Western Australia joined Algarve Pro Racing Team in Thailand earlier this month and stunning pace and consistency in the squad’s Ligier JS P2 led to a drive with the Portuguese team in the forthcoming Asian LMS curtain-closer at the Sepang International Circuit in Malaysia (20-22 January).
However, Modell’s horizons are also about to broaden, as he is set to make his Asian LMS debut at the wheel of a Eurasia Motorsport-prepared LMP3 prototype since agreeing to expand an existing relationship with BAM Motorsports that dates back to 2014.
The Kent, England-based racer will pilot a WINEURASIA Ligier JS P3 in the 4 Hours of Sepang (20-22 January) against a high-calibre 30-car entry that reflects the series’ burgeoning stature and the growing popularity and strength of the Asian motorsport scene, which is increasingly viewed as an effective breeding ground for young talent.
BAM Motorsports will continue supplying a tailor-made press, PR and marketing service that incorporates digital and print campaigns, social media and website maintenance, but its partnerships with Read and Modell will be extended to incorporate sporting and commercial management in 2017.
Read said: “I have learnt so much over the last few weeks in LMP3 and to test Algarve Pro Racing’s LMP2 car at Buriram was a fantastic experience. The test went very well and I can’t wait to join Andrea Roda and Andrea Pizzitola in the #25 car in Malaysia. The physical demands of an LMP2 car will undoubtedly be higher, but I think I have proven in my step up from Formula Masters to LMP3 that I can push for an entire stint. Driving with Algarve Pro is going to be a great experience. I’m obviously very aware of the team’s achievements in the Asian Le Mans Series and I hope to learn from my teammates and contribute towards a strong result.”
Modell added: “I’m delighted to be extending my partnership with BAM Motorsports. There are many positives to having all of my press, sporting and commercial interests managed under one roof by a company that knows me so well, and we’re already seeing results both on and off the track with this drive in the Asian Le Mans Series finale, which I’m very excited about. BAM and I have a common desire to win, we know what it takes to succeed in this high-octane, fast-paced sport and I hope to reward BAM and Eurasia Motorsport’s faith in me with some strong results in Malaysia.”
BAM Motorsports Managing Director, David Madgwick, said: “I have followed Devon’s career closely since he arrived on the scene in 2014 and have been impressed by his progress to date. I am delighted to add him to our stable of managed drivers and hope to help in taking his career to the next level.”
