WestCoast Racing put in a dominant performance today (30 May) with pole position for American driver Kevin Gleason and a close fought runner-up spot for Monza double race winner and championship leader, Gianni Morbidelli at Austria’s Salzburgring.

Gleason delivered an impeccable last gasp lap to take his second pole position of the year by just 0.091s in a highly competitive session that saw the top nine drivers covered by under half a second.

Adding icing to the day’s performance was Ukranian driver Igor Skuz, who will line-up on the fifth row in tenth position for the weekend’s opening race, before taking the reverse pole for the second on his birthday.

WestCoast Racing Team Manager, James Nixon, said: “Kevin (Gleason) and Gianni (Morbidelli) did a great job to make the most of the team’s hard work and development of the Hondas. We are getting a greater understanding of the cars race-by-race and that is allowing us to make the changes that deliver a difference, which was well reflected in today’s result.”

WestCoast Racing will try to convert today’s successes into victories in tomorrow’s (31 May) two races at the Salzburgring, Austria, which will both be available to watch live at www.tcr-series.com and broadcast live on various TV channels, including Motors TV and BT Sport.
