TF Sport are looking forward to the third round of the British GT Championship which takes place this coming weekend (26-27 May) at Snetterton in Norfolk. Currently third in the teams’ standings, a first victory of the season remains the target.
The team has already secured podium positions this year at Oulton Park and seek a strong showing in the two rounds this weekend at Snetterton where the partnerships of Derek Johnston and Marco Sørensen plus Mark Farmer and Nicki Thiim aim for the top step of the podium.
The team’s track record at Snetterton is impressive, with a victory and third position last year as well as two runner-up positions in 2016. With just 12 points between first and third in the teams’ standings, a strong result at round three could prove to be significant.
For Johnston, a change of livery on his #17 Aston Martin Vantage has been put in place as he aims to shake off the bad luck that has dogged his season to date.
Tom Ferrier, TF Sport Director
“It should be a lovely dry weekend. We have had good results at Snetterton in the recent past, so we are hunting for race wins!”
Derek Johnston, #17
“It’s been a tough start to the season for us, so we are changing the colour or the car back to the 2016 wining colour as the black has just been unlucky for us!”
Mark Farmer, #11
“It’s been a tough start. A tap at Oulton Park put us at the back of the field, as did a throttle issue at Rockingham. However, our pace was great; catching and passing the entire field – apart from Jon Minshaw – in an attempt to un-lap myself, so lots of potential there. Our pace in testing has also been very strong; and as for Nicki – well, he is just FAST! So, I am feeling confident about turning that into a good race result.”
