Nicky says…
On his first impressions of the GTD-spec Porsche 991 GT3 R…
“From the moment I drove the car I knew that Porsche had come up with a really great package. I have driven a lot of GT3 machinery now and the 991 GT3 R feels awesome.”
On the Daytona Speedway…
“I am aware of the history that surrounds Daytona and it is super cool to be driving here! The banking is much steeper than I ever imagined, but it’s not so difficult to drive on. Braking into Turn 1 and the Bus Stop will be the real challenges for the race.”
On his Black Swan race team…
“Black Swan Racing has a nice mix and a lot of experience. Most noticeable is how motivated to do a good job they all are. After the ROAR test I already felt at home with them.”
Ahead of the Rolex 24 Hours of Daytona…
“Starting the season with the Rolex 24 is tough, as it’s such an important race for everybody and it’s going to be a real challenge. We will first focus on keeping everything clean and getting to the finish before thinking about pushing for victory from the green light.”
On the competition…
“There is no doubt that GTD is going to be one of the most competitive classes in the WeatherTech United SportsCar Championship. There is a lot of factory involvement and a lot of works drivers in the field and it is going to be super close. That said, we have a very strong line-up in our car and we should be able to compete with them for top honours.”
