Former British Touring Car and British GT driver, Tom Ferrier, announced a brand new and exciting venture in January, launching the TF Sport race team that will contest a full-time Avon Tyres British GT Championship campaign, as well as selected rounds of the Blancpain Endurance Series, Dutch Supercar Challenge and International GT Open in 2014.
Ferrier, who successfully managed the leading Scuderia Vittoria team from its inception in 2010, has now gone solo and will enter up to two Aston Martin V12 Vantage GT3s in the flourishing British GT Championship under the Horsepower Racing banner.
Paul Bailey and Andy Schulz – 2013 British GT GTC and Britcar MSA British Endurance Class 1 Champions – will pilot the first Aston Martin.
However, there is scope for the fledgling Redhill-based operation to enter a second V12 Vantage GT3 under the TF Sport moniker, while dovetailing campaigns in other high-profile GT competitions with its striking McLaren MP4-12C Can-Am Edition and Ferrari 458 Italia GTC.
TF Sport Director, Tom Ferrier, said: “After three successful years with Scuderia Vittoria, I’m looking forward to the 2014 season. The team is really excited about getting stuck into some serious GT racing with Aston Martin and I feel very lucky to have already secured a British GT programme with Paul (Bailey) and Andy (Schulz). This is only the beginning for TF Sport!
“I know what a great car the Aston Martin V12 Vantage GT3 is, having already raced and developed it over the past year or so. There’s an air of confidence within the team and I’m sure the results will come sooner rather than later. However, I’m still looking for a good driver pairing for the second Aston Martin and, while we will initially focus on British GT, there are plans to enter other championships. I have learnt in my motorsport career, both as a driver and team manager, that there are opportunities around every corner and I’m eager to make the most of them.”
