TF Sport head to the season finale of the Blancpain GT Series Endurance Cup this weekend (30 September – 1 October) in Barcelona having already wrapped up the Pro-Am drivers’ championship and with Jonny Adam and Ahmad Al Harthy as well as the teams’ title.
Having won at Monza and secured runner-up positions at Silverstone, Paul Ricard and 24 Hours of Spa, the final round offers the opportunity of yet more Silverware. European Le Mans Series driver Salih Yoluc joins the team once again, and the Turkish racer has a chance to secure the runner-up position having missed the first two rounds of the championship.
Tom Ferrier, TF Sport Director
“We’ve had a fantastic season in the Blancpain GT Series Endurance Cup. We’re going to Spain with the same mentality as ever and that is to make sure we finish and to finish as high up as we can. If we can make it five podiums from five races, all the better.”
Salih Yoluc
“The goal is to finish on the championship podium, second place would be nice! The race goal itself is to step up on the podium of course. Last year we were quite unlucky with a DNF here but in general I like the circuit. Tough and technical. I like the boys (Jonny and Ahmad) and we always had fun and success so far, so its mega to be racing with then again.”
Jonny Adam
“The championship is done for us, we obviously won at Spa which is brilliant for Ahmad and TF Sport, so it was superb to wrap that up early. Now we are hoping to give Salih the chance to finish second in the drivers’ championship. Barcelona, I’ve not race there that much but the Aston always goes well there, so with a good qualifying session, we should be able to get a good result.”
Ahmad Al Harthy
“Everything has gone so well this season, Jonny is an amazing team-mate to have and the guys from TF Sport who prepare the Oman Racing Aston Martin have done an incredible job. We’re determined to end the season on a high in Barcelona, it’s a new challenge for me but one I really am looking forward to. If we can make it five podiums from five races that really would be something special.”
