Teamwork Motorsport is all set for both the CTM Macau Touring Car Cup and the Suncity Group Chinese Racing Cup in the 64th running of the Macau Grand Prix.

The three Teamwork-run Suncity RCZs have achieved remarkable results since they were first introduced in 2015, winning multiple teams’ and drivers’ titles in HTCC and MTCS as well as two wins in the CTM Macau Touring Car Cup in 2015 and 2016. This year the team is gunning to make it three in a row.

Piloted by Paul Poon, Samson Fung, and Alex Fung, all three RCZs have undergone enormous upgrades due significant regulation changes this year. The process wasn’t easy but under the support of Suncity Group, the Hong Kong based team was able to work with world class engineers and touring car driver Rob Huff to develop the strongest package for the RCZ.

“The development and testing process was tough for everyone in past few months,” said six-time CTM Cup winner Paul Poon. “We are ambitious and we want to deliver good results to our long-time sponsor Suncity Group.

“All in all, I think we’ve built a competitive machine for the Macau GP. The involvement of Rob Huff not only helped in the development, also boosted our confidence, so we are ready and looking forward to the GP.”

Entering the Suncity Group Chinese Racing Cup is the VW Golf TCR squads formed by Alex Hui, Andrew Lo, Samuel Hsieh, and Sunny Wong. Also backed by Suncity Group in this event, Teamwork’s TCR team will share the same grid with 24 other Senova D50 TCRs which were developed in the Chinese TCR programme.

“There will be close to 36 cars on our grid, and many of them are experienced, famous drivers from China, Hong Kong, and Macau,” said Lo. “So, the start will definitely be very interesting! Alex, Samuel, and Sunny have been doing the TCR China since the 2017 season began, while I started midway, but now, we as drivers, and as a team, have a good understanding about this car and should be able to squeeze the most out of them on the Guia circuit.”

The 64th Macau Grand Prix take place between 16 and 19 November. The main race for Suncity Group Chinese Racing Cup will be on Saturday 18th at 9am, while CTM Macau Touring Car Cup takes place 24-hours later.
