Salih Yoluc with TF Sport

Following an impressive start to the season where Salih Yoluç and his team secured two victories from the first three rounds of the FIA World Endurance Championship, the last event of 2019 in Bahrain wasn’t kind to the team with a mechanical issue resulting in a failure to finish.

However, heading to the Home of the US Grand Prix – Circuit of the Americas – for the fifth round of the championship, the Turkish driver remains upbeat and confident that the winning streak can resume with TF Sport teammates Jonny Adam and Charlie Eastwood.

“The last race wasn’t what we wanted and the DNF has set us back,” Salih began. “We are looking forward to COTA though; we drop most of the success ballast and the long straights and fast corners should be good for the Vantage.”

The circuit is a relatively new circuit having opened in 2010, but it is also renowned for its bumps – something the organisers have been working to rectify. “It’s a new track for me and I believe they have resurfaced parts of it, which is good,” Salih continued. “I’ve been karting a lot to keep race-ready and we go to this round very much with the win and championship battle in mind.”

Salih’s race weekend gets underway Saturday at 08.00 local time with further practice and qualifying later in the day. The six-hour race gets underway Sunday at 12:00 noon.
