After a five-week break in the schedule, Teamwork Motorsport will be back in action in round three of the TCR China series with the Grantt supported Golf TCRs at the new Zhejiang Circuit. The team is pleased to confirm that TCR International star Jean-Karl Vernay will join the team for this meeting.
The all-new venue is 3.2 kilometres in length and with 16 corners, is relatively tight and twisty in comparison to recent venues. Teamwork believe that this will play to their strengths.
With two rounds and six races complete, the Teamwork are a strong second in the teams’ standings while Alex Fung/Sunny Wong lead the drivers’ championship.
“We’ve shown in the previous outings that we have the pace, the pace to win a championship, even in the circuit like the Shanghai F1 which doesn’t favour our Golf TCR,” stated Sunny Wong. “The remaining venues seem to favour our car more, even if two of them are new circuits to us. It’s about how fast our drivers and team can adapt to the new circuits and maximise results every time.”
Besides Teamwork’s regular line-up Alex Fung, Sunny Wong, Felipe Souza, Samuel Hsieh, TCR International title contender and Team Leopard driver Jean-Karl Vernay will be at the wheel of car #31 with Alex Hui for both the sprint and relay races.
“JK’s participation with Teamwork is a rare and exciting opportunity,” said Alex Hui. “We as a team should benefit from his expertise, especially at a new circuit with very limited practice time shared by two drivers.”
