Round 2 of the China Touring Car Championship (CTCC) will take place at the Zhuhai International Circuit (ZIC) and Alex Hui and Sunny Wong will once again pilot a pair of Citroen C-Elysees in the headlining 2.0T class (4-5 June).
The burgeoning CTCC consists of three categories – 2.0T, 1.6T and 1600cc – and the championship returns to the ZIC, which is a 4.3km circuit consisting of 14 corners and medium-speed confines that put horsepower and brakes to the test.
Alex Hui, who drives the #13 Citroen, said: “After the first race weekend we identified a few problems and we can certainly stay close to the manufacturers if we rectify them in time. Although we’re leading the Independents’ Trophy, it’s always the overall positions we care about the most and I hope Teamwork Motorsport, my teammate Sunny Wong and I can demonstrate out true colours to the audience.”
Teamwork Motorsport Team Principal, Paul Hui, added: “Right now there are many little things we need to solve and improve on before we can think about winning races. We have the pace, but we need a more reliable car to achieve better race results. Every team member has been working hard since the first race weekend and I expect their efforts to pay off this time out in Zhuhai.”
Live streaming and timing of Round 2 of the 2016 China Touring Car Championship will be available on raceday (Sunday 5 June) on the official www.ctcc.com.cn website.
