Teamwork Motorsport will be looking to continue its run of success into the seventh instalment of the China Touring Car Championship (CTCC) at the Yancheng Street Circuit this weekend (23-25 October) with drivers Sunny Wong and Alex Hui.

Having missed out on victories all season through a series of unfortunate events that were out of the team’s hands, the Guangdong-based outfit finally broke its race wins duck after securing a memorable one-two finish at the Shanghai International Circuit (SIG) last month.

Major upgrades were introduced to its pair of Citroen C-Elysees last time out and this weekend’s event will be about fettling the cars’ setups, overcoming glitches and cementing its status as a championship contender ahead of its assault on the newly-introduced 2.0T category in 2016.

At 2.8km in length, the Yancheng Street Circuit looks rather simple on paper, but it’s a formidable 1-turn racetrack with a dusty and slippery surface and track conditions often differ greatly from one session to the next.

“I go to Yancheng with high confidence,” said Hui. “Last year I drove there and was in the top three in every practice session until qualifying, where a technical problem prevented me from positioning my car where we should have been. This weekend I have confidence in myself, our cars and the team and I believe we can out-perform our rivals.”

Teamwork Motorsport is currently carrying out final preparations for next month’s Macau Grand Prix (19-20 November), upgrading and testing its trio of Suncity Peugeot RCZs for drivers Andrew Lo, Paul Poon and Samson Fung, who have all dominated the Hong Kong Touring Car Championship (HTCC) to earn places on the starting grid on the streets of Macau.
