SV Racing is delighted to confirm that it will field a second Ginetta G55 for double Scottish Fiesta ST Champion Rory Bryant at Knockhill’s round of the Michelin Ginetta GT4 Supercup (23-24 August).
The 26 year old National Development Officer for Scottish Motor Sports has quickly ascended the motorsport ladder since first laying his hands on a Kart in 2001.
Bryant is now preparing to step up to the GT4 Supercup under the SV Racing banner and, supported by Scottish e-cigarette specialists Vaporized, is relishing the challenge that awaits him at his home Knockhill circuit.
“The Ginetta G55 shares a lot of similarities with the older G50 that I have raced previously. Even so, the cars are slightly different in terms of aero, engine size and power, which will make for a challenging first race, but I’m confident that my extensive experience of the Knockhill track will give me an advantage.” said Bryant. “I am delighted to join SV Racing not only because of its KX Akademy status but also the amazing results they have achieved, leading the Courier Connections Renault UK Clio Cup and holding second in the Michelin Ginetta GT4 Supercup. The results speak volumes. Having been in touch with Danny (Buxton) earlier in the year, I’m chuffed to have secured a deal with him and to be back behind the wheel of a racecar”
SV Racing Director, Danny Buxton, said: “Rory and I have been wanting to link up for a while and have worked hard to form a partnership, so it’s great to have this opportunity. His results have always stood out and I genuinely believe he will be the one to beat. He has a flexibility to his driving, core speed and unparalleled circuit knowledge. I’m confident he can get up to speed quickly and help David Pittard’s title bid along. Much like David, Rory is a top-line peddler and a serious, passionate racer who’s driven to win.”
Vaporized Marketing Manager, Iain Livingstone, said “We’re excited to be a part of Rory’s return to racing. As a family run, local business we are always keen to support homegrown talent and are looking forward to watching Rory compete at his home circuit.”
During his first year of car racing in 2007, Rory was crowned the Scottish Legends Rookie Champion and then embarked on a super-successful term racing Fiesta STs, winning 22 races and two championship titles over the course of three seasons.
He first entered the Ginetta fold in 2012, finishing second in Class 3 of the Britcar Production Cup, while various British GT outings in a Blendini Motorsport-prepared Ginetta G50 yielded one race win and two fastest laps.
To date, SV Racing’s GT4 Supercup campaign has been spearheaded by BRDC Rising Star and former MSA British Endurance Champion David Pittard, who has made an instant splash in the leading one-make sportscar championship and remains a contender for this year’s title.
The Michelin-backed GT4 Supercup has cemented itself as a highly competitive and incredibly entertaining championship and a strong platform for all drivers, from up and coming youngsters to seasoned professionals, to build successful careers in motorsport.
