The Porsche Carrera Cup Great Britain reaches its conclusion on the Brands Hatch Grand Prix circuit this weekend (10-11 October) and In2Racing intends to end the season with a flourish ‘down the Hatch’.

In2Racing has spent the two-week interval between rounds preparing its trio of Porsche Scholarship contenders, William Plant, Hannah Pym and Euan McKay for the next stages of the selection process.

That three of the ten remaining Porsche Scholarship candidates are from the In2Racing stable is a testament to the Nick Dudfield-led team’s professionalism and validates its ability to provide both discerning drivers and up and coming talents with a platform for success.

The chosen Porsche Carrera Cup GB Scholar is awarded £80,000 per annum, for two seasons, and the aspirants have to demonstrate that they can do the business both on and off the track to win the coveted prize.

Not only must they be exceptional drivers, but their media skills and physical fitness are heavily scrutinised to determine who will be the most effective brand ambassador for Porsche, and the ten remaining candidates were placed under the microscope in probing interviews at the Porsche Experience Centre at Silverstone last Thursday (1 October).

Still awaiting the outcome of the interviews, In2Racing’s focus now turns to the concluding part of the 2015 Porsche Carrera Cup GB on the world-renowned Brands Hatch Grand Prix circuit in Kent (10-11 October).

The BSS Industrial-backed Daniel McKay will endeavour to build on the Pro-Am1 podiums he achieved at Silverstone two weeks ago.

The Greenwich-based Scot has contested two rounds of the Carrera Cup GB in 2015, but has been a thorn in the side of the Pro-Am1 category’s frontrunners, regularly frequenting the top three places since graduating from the Legends Championship.

There’s hope for more glory ‘down the Hatch’ – a circuit that McKay favours – and class victories top the agenda for the In2Racing driver, who said: “For me, the Brands Hatch Grand Prix circuit is awesome. Opportunities to drive it are few and far between, but that only makes it more enjoyable when you do actually get out there. It’s a track that rewards commitment and I think it will complement my driving style, as I enjoy that feeling of teetering on the edge of what’s achievable with the car.

“Tom (Bradshaw) and I competed in the Dutch Supercar Challenge round at Brands Hatch earlier this year to prepare for the Porsche Carrera Cup GB finale and having somebody so experienced as a teammate really helped bring me on; Tom’s input definitely sped up my progress and I genuinely think this weekend will be my best opportunity to achieve class wins for my sponsor, BSS Industrial.”

Bolton’s Tom Bradshaw also featured highly on his return to the Porsche Carrera Cup GB at Silverstone and, having had time to get reacquainted with the championship, he expects to be a permanent fixture in the top six throughout the weekend on the technically demanding Kent track.

“I absolutely love the Brands Hatch Grand Prix circuit and I regard it as one of the best tracks in the country,” said Bradshaw. “It’s unforgiving and you find time by attacking the circuit, particularly on the GP loop,. It’s a phenomenal track and it’s very exciting to drive in all conditions.

“I was pretty happy with my start at Silverstone. Free practice was where I showed the most promise, as I was quick on every tyre, but a small issue in qualifying masked my true potential in the races. Progress was definitely made and Silverstone isn’t one of my favourite tracks, but I don’t want to raise expectations too much at this early stage. As long as I’m there or thereabouts with the top half dozen, I’ll be happy. Anything else would be a huge bonus.”

Porsche Carrera Cup Great Britain qualifying is scheduled to take place at 12.05 on Saturday (10 October), while the final two races of 2015 will be broadcast live and in high definition on ITV4 and ITV4HD at 10.35 and 16.17 on Sunday (11 October).
