The Audi TTRS that Rotek Racing took to victory in the 2013 United States Air Force (USAF) National Auto Sport Association (NASA) 25 Hours of Thunderhill last weekend (7-8 December) is taking pride of place at this year’s Performance Racing Industry (PRI 2013) show in Indianapolis (12-14 December).
In a sensational and flawless display of speed, consistency and reliability, Rotek Racing and its five drivers – Rob Huff, Robb Holland, Roland Pritzker, Jeff Altenburg and Kevin Gleason – sensationally sealed Audi’s first ever 25-hour race victory.
The Nurburgring and Sonoma-based team conquered sub-zero temperatures and stiff opposition, completing 705 tours of California’s Thunderhill Park Raceway to achieve a momentous and emphatic win.
Fresh from victory lane, the striking Oakley and OCC LASIK-liveried Audi TTRS will be positioned prominently on the JRZ Suspension Engineering stand in the Indiana Convention Center to celebrate Rotek’s growing relationship with the suspension and damper design specialist.
Rotek Racing – a regular in the German VLN Endurance Championship – operates from a workshop at the daunting Nurburgring Nordschleife, which stretches for 14 miles through Germany’s Eifel Mountains and has earned a notorious reputation as the world’s most demanding race track.
And in an extension of its current partnership, JRZ is set to utilise Rotek’s Nurburgring facility and technical staff to serve new customers, with ‘The Ring’ an ideal proving ground on which to test new road and track developments.
“Displaying the Audi TTRS at PRI 2013 is the perfect way of celebrating our newly-expanded partnership with JRZ Suspension Engineering, as well as Rotek Racing’s recent success in the NASA 25 Hours of Thunderhill,” said Rotek Racing driver and Team Principal, Holland.
“It will be an honour to welcome JRZ – a firm with more than half a century of experience in Research and Development of suspension and damper design – to Rotek’s Nurburgring facility and I believe this move is a real testament to the team’s professionalism and ever-increasing prominence.”
Holland continued: “The scale of Rotek Racing’s accomplishment in the 25 Hours of Thunderhill is finally starting to sink in. Launching and running a race team several thousands of miles from home in a country where you don’t speak the language to race on one of the world’s most dangerous and unforgiving tracks was just the beginning.
“Turning around and flying the entire team halfway across the globe to compete in the longest endurance race in the world and coming away with a win is just unreal. None of this would have been possible without the hard work and dedication of not only all of those at the race, but all of the guys that have been part of the programme from day one.”
JRZ will showcase its latest products and innovations alongside the Rotek Racing Audi TTRS at Booth 330 in the Green Hall of the Indiana Convention Center, Indianapolis (12-14 December).
