Ryan Brown from the Norfolk town of Watton will be treated to a VIP raceday package with the Oakley Motorsports-backed Rotek Racing team during the Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship’s visit to the Snetterton ‘300’ circuit (2-3 August).
Oakley Motorsports and Rotek Racing invited BTCC fans to select its 2014 livery from 12 artist’s impressions as part of a fab competition on the official BTCC website and Facebook page.
Ryan was selected from thousands of entries, having ‘liked’ the winning Oakley Motorsports design (pictured) that Rotek Racing will now carry on its NGTC-spec Audi S3 saloon for the duration of 2014.
The 19-year old trainee mechanic and his stepfather Graham will be Rotek Racing’s guests of honour at Snetterton, where they will be treated to VIP hospitality, garage tours and presented with a host of Rotek and Oakley goodies.
Snetterton’s traditional midsummer slot on the BTCC calendar makes it a favourite among fans. Attracted by the electrifying atmosphere, warm temperatures and the circuit’s unparalleled views of the on-track action from its extensive spectator banks, large and enthusiastic crowds from the East Anglia region regularly flock to the picturesque Norfolk venue for the BTCC’s annual visit.
Rotek Racing will be led by tin-top star Robb Holland – the first American to contest rounds of the FIA World Touring Car Championship (WTCC) whose one-off appearances in the Dunlop-backed BTCC have now heralded a full campaign with a brand new NGTC-spec Audi S3 in 2014.
“I’m a huge BTCC fan and, while I’ve followed the championship closely for almost a decade, I own every single season review DVD right back to 1986,” said Ryan. “I’ve always liked an underdog and appreciated giant-killing performances, so I respect Matt Neal for his performances as an independent during the Nineties Super-Touring era and now support 2013 Champion Andrew Jordan.
“I’m incredibly excited to have won Rotek Racing’s 2014 livery competition and can’t wait to join Robb Holland and the team at my home circuit of Snetterton! My stepfather and I still plan on camping like true hardcore fans, although receiving VIP treatment and a proper behind-the-scenes look at the championship will be an awesome experience!”
