Following a protracted summer break, Meridian Racing heads to Snetterton with an altered driver line-up for another dose of excitement in the Dunlop MSA Formula Ford Championship of Great Britain (2-3 August).

After 243 racing laps and with half the season remaining, Formula Ford GB burst back into life on the scenic 2.99mile Snetterton ‘300’ circuit, which, with a mixture of flat out straights and tight, technical infield sections, provides spectators with superb views of the action from the venue’s panoramic grass banks.

Unfortunately, Scholarship title contender Connor Mills has withdrawn from the Snetterton event, opening the way for Karting star Jai Nijjar to fill the vacant seat and make his single-seater debut.

The 15-year old from Bedfordshire currently competes in the Senior Rotax division with Strawberry Racing, having raced successfully in Super One Junior Max and Euromax Junior Rotax, finishing third overall in the latter, as well as qualifying for the World Rotax Finals in 2012 and 2013.

Having contested two rounds of the highly competitive Formula Ford GB Championship, Connor Jupp returns to the Meridian Racing fold for a third consecutive weekend and will be looking for his maiden Scholarship podium.

The former Karting ace has proven on several occasions that he has the skill and determination required to race alongside some of the more experienced drivers on the grid.

In true Meridian Racing style, the team has worked tirelessly on its two Mygales over the summer-break and is expecting to be battling at the sharp end with its two talented drivers.

Meridian Racing Team Manager, Matt Davies, said: “Over the summer break we have done a lot of testing with Jai Nijjar, who will be entering the Scholarship class at Snetterton; we have made a few changes to the base setup and worked on engine efficiency, which we think will be effective in the next round.

“Meridian will only be running two cars at Snetterton as, unfortunately, Connor Mills has had to withdraw from this round. Connor Jupp will be returning this weekend and is looking to improve on the promising start he has made so far. He learnt a lot at Oulton Park and Croft, sometimes the hard way, and will definitely be one to watch for the rest of the season.”

Qualifying for the Dunlop MSA Formula Ford Championship of Great Britain is scheduled to start at 10.20 on Satuday (2 August), which will then be followed by the first of the weekend’s races at 14.45.

The weekend will be concluded with Rounds 19 and 20 at 10.30 and 17.40 respectively on Sunday (3 August), which will both be beamed live in high definition on ITV4 and ITV4HD.
