The 2017 Lamborghini Super Trofeo Asia series continued this weekend (19-21 May, 2017) at Chang International Circuit in Thailand and for FFF Racing by ACM, it proved to be a successful weekend with Carrie Schreiner and Richard ‘Spike’ Goddard taking victory.

“It was again another very strong showing by our young Super Trofeo drivers,” said FFF Racing Team Owner Sean Fu Songyang. “Both of our driver parings performed well, getting themselves on the podium, and it was a great job by the crew as usual in very hot uncomfortable conditions. Now looking forward to Suzuka.”

Once again there was a large and strong field of competitors and FFF Racing proved to be in good shape from the outset, lapping close to the ultimate pace with both cars firmly in the upper half of the timesheets.

Jack Bartholomew qualified the #5 Lamborghini in fifth position and in such a close field, a gain of two-tenths would have placed him third. Schreiner was also showing well in the #50 Pro-AM car, recording the seventh best time in qualifying and very confident ahead of the race.

The first race saw Bartholomew battle hard in fifth position before a rapid stop from the FFF Racing crew saw Armaan Ebrahim gain one position to run in fourth place.

With just two laps remaining Goddard made best of the opportunity to move into fifth position, claiming the class victory as he took the chequered flag shortly after by two-tenths of a second.

Having qualified on the front row for race two, Ebrahim chased the race leader from the start before handing over to Bartholomew in second position. However, due to the extreme heat, the #5 Lamborghini went into anti-stall mode and this cost the duo 20 additional second in the pit lane.

Bartholomew battled on and brought the car home in a fine third position in what was a hard-fought race with extreme pressure from behind in the closing stages. Over in the sister #50 Lamborghini, Schreiner took over at half distance from Goddard in fourth position, and pushed hard through to the chequered flag to finish second in class.
