Having joined the series at Monza – scoring points on his debut – Kevin Gleason is delighted to confirm today (6 July, 2017) that he will remain in the FIA World Touring Car Championship (WTCC) and complete the season with RC Motorsport.

Five rounds remain in the series, starting this next weekend in Argentina at Circuito Termas de Río Hondo, followed by China, Japan, the streets of Macau and then the season finale in the Race of Qatar.

“I’m delighted that I will remain in the WTCC with RC Motorsport,” said Gleason. “I’ve enjoyed racing in the championship immensely and I feel that I have yet to show my full potential at this level, I have the next five races – including Macau where I was on the front row last time I was there – to continue to learn the with the TC1 car and push on up the field.

“Last year I was on the top step of the podium in TCR International, that’s obviously my ambition in WTCC. This however is at a different level, particularly with the Manufacturer entries and I’m taking every opportunity to learn and develop against the best touring car drivers in the world. Now I look forward to the race weekend in Argentina, another new track for me where I hope to make some further progress.”

The Argentinean round of the WTCC takes place 14-16 July and can be followed live on Eurosport, streamed at fiawtcc.com and will be shown in the USA on time delay on the Velocity Channel.
