It’s been a fantastic first half of the Blancpain GT Series Asia for FFF Racing by ACM with its drivers leading the overall, Pro-Am and Silver standings as the Chinese-based team heads to Fuji Speedway from rounds seven and eight of the 12 round championship.

Last time out at Suzuka, Martin Kodric and Dennis Lind secured their elusive first victory of the season off the back of multiple podium positions. Momentum is very much on their side as they top the Silver championship standings with 110 points, 19 clear of nearest rivals Martin Rump and Franky Cheng Congfu. The duo also head the overall standings with 94 points from Patric Niederhauser.

“As we leave Suzuka with a 15 second success penalty to take in the pit stop after the win, so our chances of a victory and podium might be slim in the first race,” Lind explained. “We seem to be quite strong though and it’s the first track this season which I’ve driven before, so I’m quite confident!”

Lind’s thoughts are echoed by Kodric. “After getting our first win of the season at Suzuka, we are hoping to keep the momentum high and have another strong weekend at Fuji, and hopefully keep extending our championship lead,” he said.

In the sister Lamborghini Huracan, Hiroshi Hamaguchi and Marco Mapelli are also showing fine form, leading the Pro-Am class by seven points having secured two wins already from the six starts.

“We need to keep working in this direction,” said Mapelli. “Every race we’re getting better and quicker. Hiroshi, even with the poor time on the car, it’s probably the quickest AM on the field and at Fuji we want to achieve the maximum points possible. Team is doing a great job and they’re working 24/7 to improve every little detail.”

Meanwhile in Super Trofeo Asia, FFF Racing by ACM continue to lead the championship with Andrea Amici and Artur Janosz having taken four wins already this year. Jack Bartholomew and James Pull remain in the hunt however, just 11 points adrift in a strong second position.

“After our performance in Suzuka, I am very confident of continuing this form into Fuji’s race weekend and for the rest of the season,” Bartholomew said. “I feel we have a strong line-up and package with our #19 Lamborghini. We have only grown as the season has progressed. Myself and James are still young and learning every time we drive; we are now seriously looking for our first win in Asia, let’s get going.”
